That’s why it’s essential that streams of information from the outside world find ways into North Korea, also named the “Hermit Kingdom.” Therefore, the first project we’ve decided to support financially is RIMJIN-GANG – ASIA PRESS. Japanese journalist and founder Jiro Ishamiro has spent twelve years building up a secret network of North Korean reporters operating inside their own country. The reporters risk their lives sending out unfiltered reports to the outside world, and they help distribute USB sticks and DVD’s with international news and TV-shows to the North Korean people.
